Getting your school children off to a great start. Your child will make new friends at school this year and you should too. Your new friend should be your child’s teacher. Become the teacher’s partner in your child’s education. Between the two of you, your child should have a great year. Don’t criticize the teacher in front of the child. If you need to speak to the teacher about a particular issue, don’t do it in front of your child. Children pick up attitudes and how can children learn from someone they sense their parents don’t respect? No teacher is perfect, but the vast majority of teachers teach because they love children and they feel an obligation to give the leaders of tomorrow the best education possible. Believe me, only a tiny percentage do it for the money.
