Global Give-A-Book is proud to partner with A World of Difference (AWOD) to bring art and literacy to children in need. AWOD's Art Will Save The World program encourages kids to explore their artistic talents through guided drawing exercises, fostering creativity alongside literacy.
GGAB and AWOD are providing children with the tools to grow both in education and artistic expression.

On September 11th I attended the Art Will Save The World pilot program at Algodones Elementary. The program aims to teach kids about drawing. Each child receives a free art kit which includes a pad of paper, pencils, and a lot of other cool drawing tools. The program uses a series of videos to walk the kids through the different exercises and concepts. The kids learned about thick vs thin lines, how to break down objects into shapes, how to draw 3D objects with a vanishing point, and lots more.Â
Kids love to draw, they had so much fun learning more about how to use different
techniques to draw. They drew objects from around their classroom, I loved seeing what they chose to draw and how they used what they learned from the videos. Then they colored in their drawings with the colored pencils provided in the kit.
They were all so creative and as an artist myself I loved being a part of this program, even in a small way. Afterwards all of the kids got to take their drawing kits home, I could tell they were excited to have the tools to draw. Programs like this help kids build their creative muscles and they get to have lots of fun too!
