October 2023 Literacy Review

Updated: Nov 10, 2023

Dear Literacy Advocate,

This October, GGAB was fully immersed in all things literacy- as always!

We participated in the vibrant Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta on October 12th and then zipped over to El Paso for El Paso Giving Day on October 19th.

Our global mission at GGAB is rapidly expanding across the Southwest United States, and we're thrilled to share this journey with our passionate followers and unwavering supporters.

Promoting youth literacy is a team effort, and we're fortunate to have an exceptional one by our side!

Happy Reading,

The Team at Global Give-A-Book

Rylee Brachle, National American Miss New Mexico was our Lavender Libros Guest of Honor! She read multiple #GGABooks to the children and they loved every minute!

Children gather for Lavender Libros Storytime at the GGAB tent.

Our dedicated volunteers helped prepare, man, and run the GGAB tent for the Lavender Libros Storytime as well as book distribution for children in attendance.

Reading Together

Our UNM reading tutors, Teresa, Sophie, and Elena, have been reading to the children of Cuidando Los Ninos. Though sharing storytime is only a tiny part of what these girls do to support youth literacy, their time reading to the children is pivotal.

To our donors, thank you!

What a great success our first El Paso Giving Day was!

GGAB looks forward to the year ahead working alongside the numerous organizations serving El Paso.

200+ books were delivered on El Paso Giving Day to El Pasoans Fighting Hunger, our El Paso community partner.

Susan Goodell, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger CEO, and Sylvia Maser, GGAB Founder and CEO.

Sylvia Maser, Founder and CEO, alongside Emily White, Regional Program Coordinator, were honored to partake in the EPGD live stream showcasing local nonprofits and the work we do!

United, we can bridge the divide in book access.

With your help, children visiting our partnership pantries will receive a new GGAB book alongside food supply packages.
