Dear Literacy Champions,
We're thrilled to share some heartwarming news that showcases the incredible impact of our literacy programs. Recently, we received a touching email that perfectly illustrates how our efforts are making a real difference in children's lives.
The message came from one of our partner summer camps, where the books provided by GGAB have become catalysts for remarkable progress in reading skills and enthusiasm for learning.
Initially, the campers were in awe of the beautiful, high-quality books we provided. Their hesitation to touch these literary treasures quickly turned into an eagerness to read and improve their skills. The results have been nothing short of inspiring:
An average improvement of 87% in oral reading fluency
A stunning 114% increase in comprehension
A 69% boost in vocabulary
But numbers only tell part of the story. The email shared touching anecdotes of individual triumphs:
Jayden, a first-grader, mastered 20 sight words in just a week
Alesha made significant progress in pronunciation, tackling 8 out of 16 challenging words in just one day
Jericho went from struggling with rhymes to confidently producing 10 rhyming words by the week's end
