GGAB Tutor Eli Salway Nominated for UNM Student Employee of the Year

GGAB Reading Tutor, Eli Salway, was nominated for the University of New Mexico's Student Employee of the Year Award. This prestigious nomination recognizes Eli's outstanding performance, initiative, reliability, quality of work, attitude, and overall contribution to the community on behalf of UNM and GGAB.

On April 16th I attended the UNM Student Employee Award Ceremony as a Nominee. I am so honored to have been nominated for this award. I was pleasantly surprised when I received the email notifying me of the nomination. I didn't know this award existed. I was excited to know that my work for Global-Give-A-Book is valued and appreciated. I think the work GGAB does for the community and those in need is essential, and I am so glad I was able to be a helpful part of their mission. 


I have learned so much with Global-Give-A-Book, I will be taking the skills I've learned with me for the rest of my life. I love working alongside the other reading tutors and doing what I can to help whenever something arises. GGAB has become a big part of my college experience and although my time with them as a UNM Reading Tutor is limited I am excited to continue giving it my all right up until the end! 


A child's fighting chance starts with a book!


Every book we give is a step toward a more self-sufficient child.
