Meet Sylvia Maser, the driving force behind Global Give-A-Book, a nonprofit promoting children's literacy. Sylvia's journey is inspiring; she was challenged with learning English as a child of immigrant parents but discovered a profound love for reading during college. Her experiences as a single mother of five children ignited a deep passion for literacy, solidifying her belief that all children deserve access to high-quality literature.
Before fully embracing her literary passion, Sylvia spent two decades in the marketing world, even organizing city-wide events for the City of Albuquerque. However, her commitment to literacy has always remained close to her heart. Since 2005, she has been tirelessly gifting books to children. Then, in September 2020, she took the plunge and established Global Give-A-Book as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This organization, led by women, has already distributed over 20,000 children's books and aims to provide thousands more. They've partnered with more than 20 organizations focused on aiding children and low-income families.
