Dear Literacy Advocate,
As we step into July 2024, I am proud of the incredible progress we've made together. Our recent efforts have shown the power of community support, helping us provide more books to children in need.
We've secured valuable grants and donations, allowing us the opportunity to expand our reach and impact. Partnerships with local organizations have been crucial in delivering supplies and literacy materials to those affected by crises.

For the third year, Lavender Libros, will offer public readings of favorite children's books by community leaders and distribute new books to the children and their families in attendance.
GGAB is honored to have newly crowned Miss New Mexico, Karyn Dodier, read to the children at the Lavender Festival at Noon.ico, Karyn Dodier, read to the children at the Lavender Festival at Noon.
Your role as a GGAB Volunteer at the festival is to engage visitors and share with them our mission of promoting youth literacy in New Mexico and beyond!
GGAB is proud to come alongside this organization for a second year to provide new, quality books to the children.

GGAB is honored to collaborate with Michael Martinez, the Rio Grande Rotary Club, and other Albuquerque area Rotary Clubs in delivering needed supplies to Roswell, NM. Together, we are focused on providing literacy materials for the families of Ruidoso affected by the South Fork and Salt Fires.
This annual summer event brings children together. GGAB is gifting "The Boy and the Sea" to every child in attendance. Register Here
Peter's Paycheck with Stride Inc. is a nationally recognized business for integrated employment of adults with Special Needs. Each book is carefully packed and prepared by these dedicated individuals for distribution. It takes a team, and we are privileged to have Peter's Paycheck on ours!

Fundraiser for New Children's Books
In celebration of World Book Day on April 24th, GGAB has teamed up with Barnes & Noble for a week-long fundraising event.
TOGETHER we exceeded our fundraising goal! 15% of 33k will be used towards new children’s books for EPFH.
Congratulations to our "Join to Win" GGAB Newsletter Raffle Winners!
These fabulous young ladies will receive $50 Barnes & Noble gift cards to help expand their personal home libraries! Happy Reading!
World Book Day 2024 Volunteer Highlight
The success of this fundraiser would not have been possible without the support of our community, the staff of Barnes & Noble, and our GGAB Volunteers!
Reading is fun, especially with the students at Algodones Elementary School! GGAB hosted 42 students for the Reading with Shepherd Daisy Read-a-Thon, which was a massive success! Thank you to Del Norte Credit Union and A World of Difference for investing in the children!
Students read books, completed book reports, and received certificates of completion with the support of their teacher, peers, and Elena Finnegan, GGAB's UNM Reading Tutor.
